TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
SMED provides an understanding on Kaizen philosophy, continuous improvement pursuit, by applying the tool known as SMED - Single Minute Exchange of Die, or Quick Changeover.
OBJECTIVES:
The objective of the workshop is teaching and practical application of concepts and tools presented. Therefore, at conclusion of theoretical classes, the group will perform an practical exercise to reduce the SETUP time of a machine.

Concepts and applications of KAIZEN;

Concepts and applications of SMED;

The seven categories of wastes (Muda);

Steps to perform a quick changeover;

Relationship of SMED with other philosophies such as 5S, Kaizen;

Practical exercises - application of theory learned in classroom for conducting a real setup.
